Michael Peters
Mike Peters graduated from Brock University in the Honors program with a combined major in Film and Communications. The skills he achieved arose from an intense study and analysis of issues concerning film, music, television, media and popular culture.
Since graduating from Brock in 2003, Mike has maintained a hectic schedule. He has written on numerous topics ranging from addictions, wine, video games, music news, and film culture and criticism for many on-line based magazines.
Through these numerous opportunities, Mike has gained tremendous confidence, which in turn led him to write a biographical depiction of his uncle's involvement in World War II. It was later published in The St. Catharines Standard, Mike’s hometown newspaper.
In the summer of 2007, Mike took a break from writing in order to focus on working in film production. He took on the role of Key Grip (lighting assistant) on the feature film entitled, ‘A Life Less Gone’, which was released in 2008. Additional relative experience includes working on numerous projects alongside John Petrella, Gemini Award nominated cinematographer, artist, and producer. These experiences opened Mike’s eyes and allowed him to gain further understanding and knowledge about the topics he enjoys writing about.
In early 2009, Mike was accepted as an official member of the Canadian Association of Journalists. Being one of only thirteen hundred members in all of Canada is truly a tremendous honor. As a result, journalistic integrity has become a goal that he strives to uphold.
Mike is currently a Music Journalist for Chart Attack Magazine, a Toronto-based Music website http://www.chartattack.com/ .
Interested in the world around him, nothing excites Mike more than the possibility of sharing his thoughts through writing.
